| This event is geared to Beaver and Cub age youth and younger, and it is open to the PUBLIC! SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2023 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS! This event requires the dedication of about 35 volunteers to make it successful! We need YOUTH at the Scout and Venturer levels and some adult Scout volunteers. Commitment will be required from 8 a.m. until about 3 p.m. We will need help with setting up tables, chairs, decorations, crafts, games, etc. The Tour Guides, Egg Droppers and MedVents will need to arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. so that we may all walk the routes and become familiar with them before the event begins at 10 a.m., and to discuss safety protocols. A pizza lunch, water, coffee/tea will be provided for all volunteers! Please bring your own snacks and water bottle. High school youth will be able to claim Community Service hours! This is what we need: Tour Guides – 5 people with a comfort level to lead groups of about 20 children and adults on their hike and egg hunt. Egg Droppers – 10 Scout/Venturer youth to drop plastic eggs in a specific area after each hike ends. Eggs will be collected back from the children and the Egg Droppers go back and re-set them. Possibly 3-5 times between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., depending on attendance numbers. Registration Table – 4 Scouters to sign in families/groups and to handle cash and tickets. Craft Tables – 2 people to monitor craft tables inside Council Hall. Game Tables – 2 people to monitor games inside Council Hall and possibly outside. Chocolate Tables – 2 people to monitor chocolate tables inside Council Hall and receive tickets from the participating children. MedVents – looking for 5-8 MedVents to walk the hike routes with families. Tour Director – 1 Adult Scouter (or Venturer) to welcome each group of people and explain how the tour and egg hunt will take place. This person will also give a quick history of Camp Samac and Scouting in Oshawa. (information will be provided) Traffic/Parking Attendants – 2 Venturers to monitor parking and direct families to Registration inside Council Hall.
