Is there access to WiFi?
– Camp Samac has fibre optic feeds to WiFi connections at Council Hall, Cabin 1, and Nature & Forestry Centre. (Expansion continues). WiFi password is: adventure

Can I drink the tap water?
– Water from all taps is safe to drink. Camp Samac has the unique benefit of being connect to Region of Durham Water.

How many can sleep in a cabin?
– Sleeping spaces for cabin are indicated on the booking form 18, 20, 28, 38, 80, depending the bunks available. If you require additional space such as camping around a building, please contact the Warden to make arrangements. Although our tap water is from the Regional government, toilets and drains are on an old style septic bed system. These can get overburden if too many are using them. To assist additional campers, we can arrange for portable toilets to supplement. After all, you don’t want a wet campsite due to sewage overflow.

Campsite capacity?
– To provide for privacy, fire pit, picnic tables, designated campsites are designed for 20 campers. If you have additional campers, please reach out to the Warden to discuss your needs. We are here to help.

When is Lake Samac available?
– Lake is dammed up in mid-June to mid-September for recreational use. Swimming is not allowed due to weed growth, dam safety and possibility of contaminates in the water from farm run-off up stream that can lead to skin and eye irritation.

Are cabins heated? Air conditioned?
– All cabins have gas fired or electric furnaces with thermostats, just like you home. Cubland and Cabin 1 have cooling systems for hot weather.
