| COME JOIN US AT THE CAMP SAMAC HAUNTED HALLOWEEN HIKE and HAUNTED HOUSE! Saturday, October 24, 2026 6:15 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Attendance is limited to 160 youth participants Open to Beaver and Cub Scout Sections (Closed to families and siblings) WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: · This year, we are returning to our old format of welcoming Beaver and Cub sections who will attend with their Scouters as a group! Younger or older siblings will not be included this year, as we did last year. · The evening will include a 40-minute hike with a Scavenger Hunt along the way. The groups will also visit a campfire and hear a spooky story on their hike. · A Volunteer Tour Guide will take each group on the hike and after returning, the youth can enter the Haunted House inside Council Hall! There will also be large games set up outside. The evening will be about 60-75 minutes in duration. · This event will cover aspects of the Canadian Path …. including a Night Hike, campfire, interactive story, learning about appropriate dress for the weather, following safety rules, and showing respect towards others. · Time slots will be allotted between 6:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with groups going out every 15 minutes. Please select your 3 preferred start times when you register online. You will receive an email with your confirmed start time. Beaver sections will be given priority to the earliest time-slots while available. The maximum number of youth per time-slot will be 25. You can also combine Beaver youth with Cub youth together in one group if your numbers are small. A parent may attend with a child with special needs or with young Beavers. It will be up to parents’ discretion as to whether this event will be suitable for younger Beavers. There will be Halloween decorations, lights and sounds and volunteers dressed up in Halloween costumes. We do try to “tone things down” for younger Beavers when requested. – Please arrive at Council Hall (off Conlin Road) 15 minutes early to gather your youth and to sign in and hand in paperwork. There will be a designated waiting area for the next group waiting to go out. We need to start promptly on time at 6:15 to keep things rolling smoothly, so the first group should arrive by 6:00 pm. · Please dress appropriately for the weather. Costumes are optional but no face masks or toy weapons please. Flashlights are ok. This event will happen rain or shine! (unless there is extreme weather such as thunderstorm, hail, etc.) · The cost is $10.00 per Beaver or Cub Scout and that includes a Halloween CREST and a Treat bag. Scouters and Adults will have a fee of $3.00 each. Scouters and Adults may purchase a crest for $3.00. Names of all participants need to be included on the Registration form. · Please provide sufficient Scouter-Youth ratio. A completed and approved AAF is required for this event. Please provide an email copy before the event, a paper copy, or a visual of your approved AAF on Scoutstracker at registration. |
