Camp Samac Standard Operating Procedures

  1. “You Can’t Get There from Here” Rule– Simcoe Street is not a straight path to the cabins, and the gate is usually closed, so please use the:

275 Conlin Rd. E., Oshawa entrance and exit only.

  1. KISS for Pick-Up and Drop-Off Rule– “Keep It Simple Scouter” – Have an Adult in Charge meet and greet at the main parking lot in front of Council Hall and let the campers’ adventure start from there. This ensures compliance with our vehicle policy, keeps traffic on narrow roads to a minimum, and prioritizes camper safety. This is a great opportunity to display your flag and march together to your rented space.
  2. “This is a Camp NOT a Walmart Parking Lot” Rule– Please follow the vehicle limit policy.
  3. “Standing by Just in Case” Rule– Each building/campsite may have overnight parking (following the vehicle policy) for emergency purposes only. No other vehicles are allowed. If your event or activity requires vehicle movement, please make special arrangements with the Camp Manager or Weekend Host. Do not take it upon yourself to make these decisions.
  4. “Don’t Be Bitter, Remove Your Litter” Rule – The garbage dumpster is located north of the Cubland building on your way out to the Conlin Rd. entrance/exit. Please dispose of all garbage in tied bags. Recycling bins are located beside the dumpster along the wooden fence. Do not leave garbage outside or behind.
  5. “We’re Trying, and Sometimes Really Trying” Rule– Please report any damage to buildings or property to the Camp Manager or Camp Ranger immediately. (They also appreciate feedback, praise, and occasionally pancakes.)
